Wednesday Warrior: Triston Santo

Updated: Mar 7, 2018

Meet Triston Santo. Triston is a junior at East.

Triston is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. While Triston was in his primary years, his parents moved from Micronesia to Waterloo to seek a better life for their children. Triston called the move the best that could have been made. Triston’s earlier years brought a few struggles including a head injury and loss of connection with his family in Micronesia. He feels these struggles helped shape him instead of define him. From his elementary years at Poyner to his junior year at East High, Triston has nothing but praise for his teachers, community and education with Waterloo Schools. “It has been a fun experience. I like my teachers. They’ve always been helpful. They’ve always wanted us to succeed and strive to have the best life possible.” Now looking towards his senior year of high school, Triston is preparing for the future. The variety of music and technical courses offered through the district has set Triston on the path to college to study music and film-making in Des Moines.
